To guarantee the availability of certified guides, private transportation, high-end mountain equipment, hotel rates, and, above all, entry tickets to highly regulated archaeological sites (such as Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail), At Peru Expedition requires an advance payment (guarantee deposit) to process and confirm any booking.
Below, we detail the conditions, percentages, and authorized methods for this payment.
1. Advance Payment Percentages (Deposit)
The advance payment amount varies based on the type of experience you wish to book:
- Day Trips (Full Days) and Adventure Activities:
- Multi-Day Treks (Salkantay, Ausangate, Choquequirao):
- Inca Trail (Classic or Short Inca Trail):
2. Authorized Payment Methods
We offer secure, encrypted platforms so you can easily make your advance payment from anywhere in the world:
- Credit or Debit Cards (Secure Payment Link):

- International Bank Wire Transfer (SWIFT / WIRE):
- Local Bank Transfers (Peru):
3. Deadlines for Balance Payment
The remaining balance of the total trip cost must be settled according to the following timeframes:
- Day Trips: The remaining balance can be paid in cash (soles or US dollars) or card up to the morning of the tour start.
- Multi-Day Expeditions and Treks: The remaining balance must be paid 100% at least 48 hours prior to the departure date, preferably during your mandatory pre-trip briefing (briefing) at our offices in Cusco.
4. Non-Refundable Nature of the Advance Payment
The advance payment is strictly non-refundable.
Why is it non-refundable? Upon receiving your deposit, At Peru Expedition immediately purchases your personal entry tickets to Machu Picchu, train tickets (Peru Rail or Inca Rail), and government permits from the Ministry of Culture. These institutions do not allow name changes, date changes, or refunds under any circumstances.
In the event of cancellation by the client, we will apply the penalties outlined in our general Terms and Conditions, aiming to recover and refund only the portion of the deposit that has not already been processed or paid to non-refundable third-party providers.
5. Booking Confirmation Process
Payment Link/Account Details: Our sales team will send you the final quote and your chosen payment method details.
Proof of Payment: Once the advance payment is made, you must send us the digital proof of payment (screenshot, receipt, or transaction confirmation) along with a clear copy of your passport or ID.
Voucher Issuance: Within a maximum of 24 to 48 business hours, we will process your permits and send your Official Service Confirmation Voucher. Your trip is not considered guaranteed until you receive this document.
