  • Location: La Convención and Urubamba Provinces, Cusco Region.
  • Difficulty: Moderate. Requires good physical stamina for sports activities, but altitude is low.
  • Maximum Altitude: Abra Málaga (4,316 m.a.s.l. / 14,160 ft) — Biking starting point.
  • Minimum Altitude: Santa María / Santa Teresa (~1,200 – 1,500 m.a.s.l. / 3,937 – 4,921 ft).
  • Climate: Warm, tropical, and humid for most of the trek (15 °C to 28 °C / 59 °F to 82 °F). Cold only at the starting point.
  • Accommodation: Local guesthouses/family stays in Santa María and Santa Teresa, and a hotel in Aguas Calientes (no tent camping).

Day 1: Train to Aguas Calientes.

  • Morning departure: Board the scenic train from Ollantaytambo station, enjoying panoramic views of the Urubamba River and the changing landscape as you enter the cloud forest.
  • Afternoon arrival: Arrive in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), check into your hotel, and take some time to explore the vibrant local artisan market.
  • Evening briefing: Meet your guide for a briefing about the upcoming Machu Picchu tour and enjoy a relaxing dinner in town.

Day 2: Machu Picchu - zip-lining / hot springs.

  • Early morning: Take the shuttle bus up to the citadel for a guided tour of Machu Picchu, exploring its iconic terraces, temples, and palaces.
  • Mid-day adventure: Head to Santa Teresa for a thrilling zip-lining experience, flying across the canyon lines high above the valley floor.
  • Late afternoon: Unwind and soothe your muscles in the thermal waters of the local hot springs.

Day 3: Level 3 rafting - biking - return

  • Morning rapids: Gear up for an adrenaline-pumping Level 3 rafting session on the Urubamba River, navigating exciting waves and rapids.
  • Afternoon ride: Switch gears for a downhill mountain biking descent through lush landscapes and high-jungle roads.
  • Evening return: Transfer back to Cusco, arriving in the evening to conclude your action-packed adventure.
