Cancellation and Refund Policy

At At Peru Expedition, we understand that travel plans can change due to unforeseen circumstances. However, because services in Cusco (especially entry tickets to Machu Picchu, Inca Trail permits, and train tickets) must be paid in advance and are strictly nominative, non-refundable, and non-transferable by government regulation, we apply the following cancellation and refund conditions.

By confirming your booking with an advance payment, you accept these policies in their entirety.

If you wish to cancel your booking (with the exception of the Inca Trail, detailed in Section 2), penalties will be applied based on how far in advance you notify us of the cancellation in writing to our email admin@atperuexpedition.com:

Due to strict regulations imposed by SERNANP and the Ministry of Culture of Peru, permits for the Inca Trail (Classic 4-Day or Short 2-Day) are 100% non-refundable, non-transferable to other people, and do not allow date changes under any circumstances.

Before requesting a cancellation, we highly suggest exploring a rescheduling option.

At Peru Expedition is not liable for cancellations, interruptions, delays, or changes to itineraries caused by force majeure events beyond the company’s control. These events include:

Our Backup Policy: In the event of force majeure, the Company will not refund services already paid to third parties, but we will do everything within our power to reschedule the activities, offer alternative trekking routes (such as swapping Salkantay for another route if the pass is blocked), or issue a Travel Credit Voucher valid for 12 months.

Trekking the Andes is a unique adventure experience, but it is exposed to nature and complex logistical factors. At Peru Expedition strictly requires all passengers to have active Travel Insurance with cancellation coverage.

A good travel insurance policy will reimburse 100% of your logistical losses in Cusco if you have to cancel your trip due to medical reasons, family emergencies, or flight disruptions.
